India and Romania signed an agreement on the acquisition, on the basis of reciprocity, of property rights over land

An Agreement on the acquisition, on the basis of reciprocity, of property rights over land for the well functioning of the diplomatic missions and consular offices was signed between the Government of India and the Government of Romania on 31 January 2023 in New Delhi, according to a press release posted on Facebook by the Embassy of India to Romania.

The Agreement was signed by the Ambassador of Romania to India and Joint Secretary (GEM), Ministry of External Affairs of India.

Romania and India established diplomatic relations on the 14th of December 1948, on legation level. On the 15th of November 1957 the bilateral diplomatic representation was elevated at embassy level. The diplomatic mission of Romania in India opened in 1955, and India’s diplomatic mission in Bucharest opened in 1959, according to the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
