Interim President Ilie Bolojan said on Thursday that he will respect the protocol of the governing coalition, which has former Liberal president Crin Antonescu as its candidate.

„The governing coalition has a protocol, it has an established candidate and, therefore, I will respect this protocol,” said Bolojan, in Brussels, at the end of the special meeting of the European Council, when asked about the internal discussions that refer to a possible candidacy.

According to the interim president, the current discussions „have to do with the pre-electoral context”.
