The Monitoring Committee of the Interreg NEXT Romania – Republic of Moldova Program approved the Applicant’s Guide for cross-border investment projects. The call for projects, worth 40 million euros, non-reimbursable funds, will be launched in the coming days, those interested having four months to submit funding applications, the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration (MDLPA) announced, on Wednesday, in a press release sent to AGERPRES.
The representatives of the two states met on Tuesday, during the second meeting of the Program Monitoring Committee, to approve the criteria for granting financing for projects with an investment component (standard projects), as well as the way in which selection, evaluation and contracting will take place.
Those interested in accessing the funds available through this cooperation program will be able to submit projects aimed at rehabilitating, modernizing and equipping the education, health and tourism infrastructure in the border counties of Romania – Botosani, Iasi, Vaslui and Galati and from the entire territory of the Republic Moldova. Also, projects whose objective is to combat climate change and protect biodiversity in the areas covered by the program will be able to receive European funding, stated MDLPA.
The management authority presented to the representatives of the two countries the requirements for the financing of low-value projects, for which the Applicant’s Guide is available for public consultation until August 31 at the address https://www.ro-md.net/ro/noutati- 2021-2027/public-consultation-applicant-guide-for-low-value-projects. The Interreg NEXT Romania – Republic of Moldova program has a EUR 77.3 million budget, non-reimbursable funds, to which the national contribution will be added. The areas covered by this program are Health, Education, Tourism and Culture, adaptation to climate change, biodiversity, good governance and border management.
