Iohannis: Drug use in young people is alarming

Drug use among in Romania’s young people is an alarming phenomenon, President Klaus Iohannis said on Monday, adding that the subject will be included on the agenda of the next meeting of the Supreme Council for National Defence (CSAT), write Agerpres.

„I want to mention now an alarming phenomenon, that of drug use in young people. It is a problem that concerns our society increasingly more, and I am glad that there is an increased interest in trying to find solutions to combat the scourge.

I have decided to include this subject on the agenda of the next meeting of the Supreme Council for National Defence. The effects, the extent, the societal challenges of drug use, especially from a young age and in schools, are a serious challenge against individuals and national security,” Iohannis told an opening of the school year ceremony at Secondary School No. 162 in Bucharest.
