Judges of Bucharest Court of Appeal explain release of doctors at St Pantelimon Hospital: No evidence to incriminate them

Published on

The judges of the Bucharest Court of Appeal maintain that there is no evidence to incriminate the two doctors from the St. Pantelimon Hospital charged with aggravated murder, the nurses’ statements are considered „mere gossip” and passages from the investigators’ report were meant to „fascinate public opinion”.

The Bucharest Court of Appeal published on Wednesday the reasons for which the magistrates ordered on August 20 the release from custody of doctors Maria Miron and Mirela Paius from the Intensive Care Unit of the St. Pantelimon Hospital, accused of aggravated homicide in the case of the suspicious deaths.

In a 34-page document, the judges reject all the allegations of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Bucharest Tribunal, concluding that there is no evidence to incriminate the two doctors.
