The government approved on Wednesday an additional RON 2.8 million-plus to the budget of the Justice Ministry for the continuation of ongoing projects, Minister Alina Gorghiu announced.

„All the ongoing investments are for the tax-paying citizens to benefit from a quality public service, and spacious, modern courthouses. The earmarks are also for ensuring appropriate working conditions for magistrates and auxiliary staff. The addition to the Justice Ministry’s budget was more than necessary because we have many ongoing projects, including those aimed at ensuring adequate heating of the facilities during the winter,” Gorghiu said in a release.

The Executive adopted at its meeting on Wednesday a draft decision regarding the addition of RON 2.821 million in budget appropriations for the Justice Ministry in 2024 from the government’s budget reserve fund. The ongoing investments this supplement is intended for include the central heating installation of the Alba Iulia Court of Appeal; the furbishment of the room for interviewing minors and the evidence keeping facilities at the Carei Court; equipment for the server room at the Oradea Palace of Justice; the equipment of the Mures Court archive room with fire detection, signaling and warning systems etc.

The Justice Ministry reminds that major investments in the infrastructure of the judicial system were completed this year at several courthouses and that efforts will be made to complete investment at the Deva Palace of Justice (headquarters of the Hunedoara Tribunal and the Deva Court), and at the Harlau and Dragomiresti courthouses.
