Maia Sandu is the person who did not keep quiet and did not stand aside in a difficult moment for Romania, said Save Romania Union (USR) leader Elena Lasconi on Tuesday, in a message conveyed on the occasion of the of assumption of office by the President of the Republic of Moldova.

The USR leader conveyed to the President of the Republic of Moldova to have the strength to remain on the good side of history, regardless of how complicated the moments to come will be.

„Maia Sandu is the person who, in a difficult moment for Romania, did not keep silent, did not stand aside. She came to Bucharest not so much to support me, but to support all of us who believe in freedom, democracy and that Romania’s path is towards the West. Thank you, Maia Sandu! Today, when she officially takes office, I would like to wish her only one thing: may she have the strength to remain on the right side of history, no matter how complicated the moments to come will be! Romania and the Republic of Moldova, together in the European Union!,” Elena Lasconi wrote on Facebook.
