Liberal Fenechiu: Mircea Abrudean is the most likely to take over Senate chair office

Published on

The leader of the PNL (National Liberal Party) senators, Daniel Fenechiu, on Tuesday stated that Mircea Abrudean will most likely take over the duties of president of the Senate.

„Mircea Abrudean will most likely take over the duties of Senate chair. He is the only vice president from the PNL in the Standing Bureau and I think it is natural for this to happen,” Fenechiu said at the Senate.

He indicated that Ilie Bolojan will suspend himself from his capacity as member and president of the PNL, in the context in which he will take over the position of interim president of Romania, following the resignation of president Klaus Iohannis.

He also undescored that the PNL will not change its mind regarding Crin Antonescu’s candidacy in the presidential elections.
