Madalina Amaistroaie (archery) and Alex Cret (judo) qualify for 2024 Olympic Games

Romanian athletes Madalina Amaistroaie (archery) and Alex Cret (judo) have qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris, the Romanian Sports and Olympics Commitee (COSR) announced on their official Facebook page on Tuesday.

„For the second time in a row, Madalina Amaistroaie will represent Team Romania in the archery competitions at the Olympic Games. The athlete registered at CSM Suceava and CSU Cluj, trained by Ioana Covaliu, received a quota place from the International Federation of Specialty and today she is part of the Romanian Olympic Team for Paris 2024. Madalina also competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Welcome to the Olympic Team, Madalina!,” the COSR representatives informed.

Athlete Alex Cret is participating in his first edition of the Olympic Games: „It’s official, Alex Cret has been confirmed by the International Judo Federation and will represent Romania at the competition in Paris. Alex Cret, registered at CSM Oradea, is coached by Emil Morar. He will be the only representative of this discipline to compete in the Paris Games! Welcome to the Olympic Team!”

The Romanian team currently has 95 athletes qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games (July 26-August 11), in 17 sports.
