MEP Sosoaca: I think we should initiate a movement to stop the power in Bucharest

Published on

National leader of the opposition S.O.S. Romania, MEP Diana Sosoaca, told a news conference on Monday that it is necessary to set up a movement to stop the incumbent power in Romania amidst the ongoing war in Ukraine.

„It is an extremely serious international context, in which Romania, obviously, suffers as it did 100 years ago, 200 years ago. If we are not careful, we will end up being divided again as Churchill once did, and, obviously, we will end up in the exclusively Russian sphere of influence. (…) At the meetings I had with interim President Bolojan, an agreement was reached in the sense that Romania will not send troops to Ukraine. The sovereigntist side campaigned for peace, and Mr Bolojan mentioned that he will not send troops to Ukraine and that he will do everything in his power to make peace, but it depends on what he will be told in Brussels. So, it is very clear to me that Mr Bolojan cannot escape that category of slaves beforemasters. Anyway, it has always been in Hungary’s interest, now it is in Brussels’ interest. Unfortunately, what happened at the summit in the UK, I think you have all seen. Well, the summit does not mean that agreements are concluded, but it gives us an idea of what will happen in the future. (…) The summit in the UK was based on the idea that the war will continue,” Sosoaca said in Parliament.

She expressed her fear about a possible scenario under which „the European Union will go to war, not only with the Russian Federation, but also with the US, because US President Donald Trump has made it very clear that he will fight against all those who want to continue the Russian-Ukrainian war, given that an agreement has been reached with the Russian Federation”.

„Zelenskiy’s visit to the White House denoted, first of all, a total lack of character. (…) If it hadn’t been for American aid, it wouldn’t have lasted even a day. (…) At this moment, Romania is placed, through President Bolojan, to start a war against the Russian Federation, against the USA and, of course, against China. Think that we have the three great powers of the world in coalition against whom? A Europe that is defeated, a Europe that is bankrupt, a Europe that no longer even has the companies in Germany to support economically, a Europe in which people have lower and lower salaries, and money is no longer enough for them, a huge inflation, there is no more production. (…) Given the circumstances, I think we should initiate a movement to stop the incumbent power in Bucharest, an unconscious and a coward like Ilie Bolojan, the interim president of Romania. I don’t know who put him there, but it was a bad choice. Because Romania’s interest is not to go to war with anyone, given that we don’t even have an army.”

She also said that the European Union has a plan to bring down Trump by any means.
