Romania needs a serious reset at the level of the state-citizen, state-companies relationship, considers the Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalization, Bogdan-Gruia Ivan, who emphasized that the same state architecture of over 30 years ago and the same ultra-bureaucratic procedures are not they only hinder the economic development of the country.
„I think we need a serious reset at the level of the state-citizen, state-companies relationship. I think that the same architecture of the state from 30 years ago, the same ultra-bureaucratic procedures only make the economic development of Romania more difficult. And the final cost I pay all Romanian citizens, all Romanian entrepreneurs and with all the love towards all those in the public sector, my colleagues, some of whom are remarkable people, who do an extraordinary job, I don’t want the relationship of a company or a natural persons in our country depend on the state of mind or the good mood of a public official, in any interaction with the state. For this reason, a very high level of expectation has been created since a few years ago, when the concept of digitalization was discussed. in the public sector. Only last year we managed to start a series of extremely important projects. If in 2022 there were public procurements of 22 million euros through PNRR, with what we launched and what we have now in the auction, we are approaching 1.7 billion euros,” said Bogdan-Gruia Ivan, at the conference „The Lit Boardroom – addressing the main challenges of today’s boards of directors”, an event organized by Association of Independent Administrators (AAI) and Chapter Zero Romania.
The relevant minister mentioned that, regarding the government cloud, European money was accessed, the purchase was made, it will be installed by December 15 and become operational from March next year.
„All the databases of the Romanian state, which today when you go to a counter send you to another counter, which do not talk to each other, which have a different technical language, will eventually be connected to each other, and when you arrive you as an administrator, as an entrepreneur, as a natural person needing something from the state, you will be able to obtain that information, certificate, request directly from a single counter or directly from your phone, laptop or tablet that you can send without you have to go to 3, 4, 5 counters. On the other hand, we create a system, a single application of the state where all the interaction of the citizens is done in one place. I don’t want to go from physical counters to multiple counters to be honest with you, I brought the best people in the world, I looked at the countries that have the best digital public services, I found The Arab Emirates, Estonia, Poland, Denmark, Portugal, we saw how they do it, we brought people to do it too, together with specialists from the Ministry, from ADR. And in this form, the bet is the following: let’s do in 3 years, 3 years and a half what other states started doing 20 years ago,” said Bogdan-Gruia Ivan.
