Ministry of Finance launches fourth edition of FIDELIS from 2025, with interest rates of up to 7.80%

The Ministry of Finance is launching the fourth FIDELIS edition of 2025, which will take place between May 9 and 16 and which comes with interest rates of up to 7.80% for issues in lei and up to 6.25% for those in euros, the Ministry of Finance announced in a press release.

Those who want to invest their savings in the FIDELIS Program, the May edition, will benefit from non-taxable interest: 6.75% – with maturity in 1 year, 7.40% – with maturity in 3 years and 7.80% – with maturity in 5 years, in RON; 3.85% – with maturity in 2 years and 6.25% – with maturity in 7 years, in euros.

The special tranche of FIDELIS government bonds, issued in RON and maturing in 1 year, dedicated to all those who provide proof of blood donation starting with November 1, 2024, will have an interest rate of 7.75%. Donor-investors benefit from a minimum subscription threshold reduced from 5,000 RON to 500 RON, within a maximum ceiling of 100,000 RON.

FIDELIS has new features in 2025: monthly releases; the possibility to subscribe, for 6 business days, from the first part of the month; the interest rates and maturities for the next issue are announced at the end of the current month for the next issue; a new partner – TradeVille, in partnership with Libra Bank, the main retail broker in Romania, in addition to BT Capital Partners&Banca Transilvania, Banca Comerciala Romana, B.R.D. – Groupe Societe Generale and Alpha Bank.

Those who invest in FIDELIS government securities enjoy facilities such as the possibility of selling the securities before maturity, receiving interest related to the holding period based on the price received on the stock exchange, income obtained as a result of holding the securities is non-taxable, flexibility in portfolio management and diversification.

„We remind you that the nominal value of a FIDELIS government bond is 100 RON for the issue in RON and 100 euros for the issue in euros, and the minimum subscription threshold is 5,000 RON and 1,000 euros, respectively,” the press release reads.

According to the cited source, the figures of the three editions in 2025 prove that Romanians’ interest in the savings method proposed by the Ministry of Finance is continuously growing: the total amount invested is almost 8 billion RON; 85,157 subscription orders; 12,046 donors – investors; over 964 million RON the total amount invested by donors-investors.
