Moldova’s prime minister resigns. Government collapses amid series of crises

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Natalia Gavriliţa, announced her resignation on Friday during a press conference, Moldpres news agency announces, Agerpres reads.

„After a year and a half in office, the time has come to announce my resignation”, Gavriliţă communicated.

The announcement of the resignation of the Chisinau government comes after a meeting at the Presidency, according to Unimedia.

Previously, the ambassador of the Russian Federation in Chisinau, Oleg Vasnetsov, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE) of the Republic of Moldova following the overflight of the airspace of the Republic on Friday morning by a Russian missile launched against Ukraine.

The Cabinet of Ministers led by Prime Minister Natalia Gavriliţa was inaugurated on August 6, 2021.
