The non-performing loan rations was 2.46% at the end of December 2024, down from 2.54% in September 2024.
In December 2023, the nonperforming loans ratio was 2.37%, according to data centralized by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
At the end of last year, there were 32 credit institutions in Romania, of which eight were branches of foreign banks. Total assets amounted to 881.7 billion RON, an increase by 38.5 billion RON compared to September 2024 and by 78.4 billion RON against the end of 2023.
The assets of private capital institutions represented 85.7% of total assets, and the assets of foreign capital institutions 62.5%.
Also, the solvency indicator was, in December 2024, 23.66%, compared to 24.95% at the end of September 2024 and 23.6% at the end of the previous year.
