The net average salary, increased to 5,176 RON in June this year, up by 58 RON (+1.1%) compared to May 2024, according to data published on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The gross average gross salary was 8,480 RON, 125 RON (+1.5%) higher than in the previous month.
The highest values of the net average earnings were recorded in publishing (11,614 RON) and the lowest in clothing manufacturing (2,798 RON).
In June 2024, in most activities in the economic sector, the level of net average earnings increased as a result of occasional bonuses (quarterly, half-yearly, annual or performance bonuses), entitlements and financial assistance, amounts from net profit and other funds (including securities).
Increases in net average earnings were also due to higher production achievements or receipts (depending on contracts/projects).
In the pubic sector, there were increases in the net average earnings compared to the previous month in health and social care (+4.3%) and in public administration (+3.9%), mainly as a result of the application of the legal provisions in force.
Compared to June of the previous year, the net average wage increased by 12.5%.
The real wage index was 107.2% in June 2024 compared with June 2023. The real wage index was 100.9% in June 2024 compared to May 2024. Compared to October 1990, the real wage index was 251.6%, 2.2 percentage points higher than in May 2024.
