New car registrations up 36% in November, electric vehicles surge 114% (APIA)

New car registrations in Romania showed an upward trend in November, rising by 36% compared to the same period in 2024, according to preliminary data from the General Directorate for Driving Licences and Vehicle Registration (DGPCI), analysed by the Romanian Association of Automobile Manufacturers and Importers (APIA).

During the analysed period, a total of 13,817 new cars were registered.

At the same time, the category of all-electric cars recorded a surge of 114% in November 2025 compared to November 2024, reaching 1,052 units registered.

However, over the first 11 months of this year, new car registrations fell by 0.6% compared to the same period last year, totalling 134,653 units.
