Nicolae Ciuca: War veterans deserve honors; they fought for Romania to have freedom

Published on

The president of the Senate, Nicolae Ciuca, highlighted, on Monday, in a message sent on the occasion of War Veterans’ Day, that they deserve all the honors because they fought for Romania to have „the freedom to decide its future”.

„Today I participated in the military and religious wreath-laying ceremony at the Heroes of the Fatherland Monument, on the occasion of War Veterans’ Day.(…) War veterans deserve all the honors, because they fought for Romania to have the freedom to decide its future. We have the duty to tell future generations the stories of these heroes. Thus, their memory will last in time, and the idea of sacrifice for the homeland will remain a living value in our culture. May God protect Romania and its veterans!” Ciuca wrote on Facebook on Monday.

He mentioned that with this gesture „he paid tribute to all those who fought and made the ultimate sacrifice on the battlefield, for the defense of Romania’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity”.
