A school campus for dual education is being built in Oradea, through a project of the Bihor County Council (CJ) worth over 29 million euros, funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR, write Agerpres.

According to a press release from Bihor County Council, Minister of Education Ligia Deca and President of Bihor County Council Ilie Bolojan signed in Oradea, on Friday, the financing contract for the School Campus for Dual Education, a project representing a partnership between pre-university education, university education, local public authorities and the private sector.

„We see how the complete dual route, namely bringing schools closer to the private sector, is becoming a reality today. For us it is great that the first contract can be signed inside a dual campus that is almost ready. Here is the merit of the local public authorities of Bihor county for the fact that the mobilisation was great and the importance of this subject was understood long before the launch of the dedicated funding line. It is symbolic that we are signing the first contract here today, because more than 40% of the students enrolled in the dual route in Romania are in Bihor County,” said Minister of Education Ligia Deca.

According to the quoted source, after the signing of the financing contract, vice-president of Bihor County Council Mircea Malan presented to the minister the Campus in Oradea, which is 95% completed. Funding for the School Campus for Dual Education will be provided through PNRR, Component 15 – Education, Reform 4 – Creating a comprehensive vocational route for higher technical education. The project has a total value of about 147 million lei, VAT included, equivalent to more than 29 million euro, VAT included, the own contribution of Bihor County Council being almost 21 million lei without VAT.

„During today’s visit, the Minister of Education had a series of meetings with employers who are part of the consortium for the School Campus, with the university environment of Oradea and the pre-university environment (…) The areas that will be studied by students in the ninth grade are mechanics, construction, installations and public works, electromechanics, electronics and automation and industrial chemistry. The students will benefit from a monthly scholarship ranging from 400 to 1,000 lei, free accommodation, three meals a day and transport allowance,” the press release also shows. On the campus there will be laboratories, workshops for different specialisations, classrooms for theoretical education, a dormitory for accommodation with a capacity of 140 places, a canteen, medical offices, a swimming pool and a gym.
