Over 1,348,000 people, Romanian and foreign citizens, completed the border formalities between August 4 and 6, an approximately 40 pct increase compared to the same period last year, the General Inspectorate of the Border Police (IGPF) informs Monday, in a press release to AGERPRES.
On Sunday, 260,779 people entered Romania through the border points, of which 19,153 were Ukrainian citizens.
Around 499,500 people, Romanian and foreign citizens, with more than 125,400 means of transport, went through the control formalities at the border points throughout the country, both on inbound and outbound.
The police found 63 illegal acts (31 crimes and 32 misdemeanors) committed by both Romanian and foreign citizens, and the amount of contravention fines applied amounts to approximately 11,000 RON. Goods were seized for confiscation in the amount of approximately 197,500 RON.
On Sunday, 14 foreign citizens who did not meet the conditions provided for by law were not allowed to enter the country, while 22 Romanian citizens were not allowed to leave for various legal reasons.
