More than 700 people who were the subject of alerts having been entered in the Schengen Information System (SIS) have been detected in the last week, the Romanian Police said Sunday in a press release sent to AGERPRES.
Thus, in the period 5 – 11 April 2024, Romanian police officers and partners from Schengen member states detected 716 persons, 64 vehicles and 49 documents subject to alerts entered into the Schengen Information System.
Thus, according to the source, 536 persons were located on the territory of our country who are the subject of alerts in the SIS, following the additional exchange of information through the SIRENE National Bureau of the International Police Cooperation Centre – General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police.
„Romanian police officers have executed 23 European arrest warrants, have detected 56 persons reported by Member States as having refused entry or stay in Schengen territory, 252 persons who were wanted for participation in a judicial procedure and eight persons who were reported missing by their partners in Schengen states,” the press release said.
In addition, 33 documents were seized on Romanian territory, and 61 vehicles sought by Schengen partners to be confiscated or used as evidence in judicial proceedings were found, the source said.
Moreover, 180 persons wanted by the Romanian authorities have been identified by foreign partners on their territory, following the exchange of information through the SIRENE National Bureau of the International Police Cooperation Centre – General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police.
