As many as 87,235 people, including 9,055 Ukrainian citizens, entered Romania on Thursday October 12, the General Border Police Inspectorate (IGPF) reported on Friday. According to IGPF, at the border points nationwide on Thursday, nearly 185,700 people, Romanian and foreign citizens, were checked both on the way in and on the way out of Romania, as well as more than 50,600 means of transport, write Agerpres.
Starting February 10, 2022 (pre-conflict time) 6,345,730 Ukrainian citizens entered Romania. The border police detected 48 illegal acts (29 crimes and 19 misdemeanors) in the areas under their jurisdiction – the crossing points and the green border – committed by both Romanian and foreign citizens, levying about RON 11,000 in fines in the process. Assets worth about RON 2,599,000 were impounded.
Twenty-four foreign citizens who did not meet the conditions provided by the law were denied entry. Also on Sunday, ten Romanian citizens were not allowed to leave the country for various legal reasons.
