PM Ciolacu: I am glad that finally Moldavia’s motorway is no longer just a story

Romania’s Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Friday, on a visit to Barlad, Vaslui County, that Moldavia has so far been subject to a great injustice by work being delayed on a motorway to cross this region.

He checked the latest developments in the construction of the ring road and appreciated the fact that the construction company managed to get close to completing the works, after there were several delays with this project. He gave assurances that with the commissioning of the bypass belt, economic growth will follow in the area.

„It is the most important investment of the past 30-40 years. This investment will take the heavy traffic out of Barlad, in and out of the Republic of Moldova – Albita Customs, to and from Iasi, because today as we speak, all the heavy traffic is in the middle of Barlad. Today’s visit gives us hope that in June this facility will be completed,” said Barlad Mayor Dumitru Boros.

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Sorin Grindeanu and Minister of European Investment and Projects Adrian Caciu visited Vaslui County on Friday to check the latest developments in the construction of the ring road that bypasses Barlad.

Ciolacu was also expected to attend the extraordinary County Conference of the Vaslui Social Democratic Party (PSD) to be elected chairman pf the PSD Vaslui County chapter.
