PM Ciolacu: Obvious motion of censure was going to fail, in fact it was a political charade

Published on

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Friday that it was „obvious” that the motion of censure would not be adopted, as it was „a political charade”.

„It was obvious that the motion of censure was going to fail, in fact it was a political charade. I am one of the politicians who believe in democracy and I believe that every democratic tool, including the motion of censure tabled against a Government, there must be a moment when both the Opposition and the Government can clear certain governmental things and explain to Romanians, so that, after such a democratic exercise, even if it passes, even if it does not pass, everyone should win, something that did not happen today. I will continue my work together with my colleagues,” said Ciolacu, in Parliament, after the rejection of the motion of censure initiated by AUR, S.O.S Romania and POT.

He said that the next two weeks are dedicated to discussions with ministries on the implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
