PM Ciolacu: We are approving the technical and economic indicators for the new stadium in Timisoara

Published on

At today’s meeting, the government will approve technical and economic indicators for the construction of a new stadium in the western city Timisoara, a modern arena in which over EUR 165 million will be invested.

„Another project highly anticipated locally by tens of thousands of supporters is the construction of the new football stadium. Last year, together with two friends and two people from Timisoara, the Minister of Transport, Mr Grindeanu, and Mr Simonis, the interim speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, I met the leaders of Poli Timisoara’s fans. We promised them that we would start this project and today we keep our word. We approve the technical and economic indicators for the stadium in Timisoara. It will be a modern arena of 30,000 seats in which over EUR 165 million will be invested,” Ciolacu told the Government meeting.

He added that he hoped that the fans of the local football team Poli Timisoara would invite him to one of their home matches.

„I hope you will welcome me to join your fans at a match,” Ciolacu said.
