PNL proposals, accepted by European Commission, with single tax quota to be maintained in 2025 (PNL’s Ciuca)

The President of the National Liberal Party (PNL), Nicolae Ciuca, stated on Thursday that the proposals of the liberal party to support the middle class were accepted by the European Commission, arguing that the single tax rate will be maintained in 2025 as well, as proposed PNL, and it will not be a progressive tax, as the Social Democratic Party (PSD) wants.

„The PNL proposals for supporting the middle class have been accepted by the European Commission. The single rate, the best for Romania, remains in force and in 2025, as the National Liberal Party said, it will not be a progressive tax, as Marcel Ciolacu and the Social Democratic Party wish. Another liberal proposal: the increase in stages the contribution rate from 4.75% to 6% in Pension Pillar 2. I started the increase in the contribution rate during my mandate as prime minister. The National Liberal Party remains the guarantor of Pillar 2 so that Romanians have more money for retirement,” Nicolae Ciuca stated in a video post on Facebook.

According to Ciuca, the European Commission also supports the liberal approach of increasing the bonus for good tax payers from 3% to 5%.

„There are 560,000 companies in Romania that pay their taxes on time. It’s time to show respect for entrepreneurs. PNL remains the main ally of the middle class, of the Romanians who work and have initiative,” Nicolae Ciuca said.
