PNL’s Ciuca in Chisinau: We must prevent parties speaking for Moscow in Romania from building alliances

Published on

PNL (National Liberal Party) leader Nicolae Ciuca is currently paying a visit to the Republic of Moldova, in which context he stated that „absolutely everything” must be done so that the parties that are „Moscow’s speaking trumpets” in our country, namely „AUR [Alliance for the Union of Romanians] and SOS,” won’t be able to make alliances between them, „distorting” thus the final result of the elections at the end of this year.

„I understood very well all the situations that the Republic of Moldova went through, all these machinations and instruments that were put into practice by the forces hostile to democracy in the Republic of Moldova, trying to manipulate and misinform the voters both before the first round of elections and the voters in the referendum, as well as in the second round of the presidential election. This did not only happen in the Republic of Moldova, and there is clear evidence from the security institutions in the United States that Russia tried to interfere, including in the presidential election in the USA, which means that, in Romania too, we need to tell and remind our voters about everything that means the continuation of Romania’s democratic, free, pro-European course. PNL is the most pro-Atlantist political party in Romania and we must do absolutely everything in our power so that the parties that are Moscow’s speaking trumpets in Romania – and I’m talking about AUR and SOS – cannot enter into these political combinations, so that the final result of the elections and for Romania to be diverted from everything that this path of continuing economic development and consolidating the role that our country plays in the Black Sea area, plays in the eastern part of Europe,” said Ciuca, after the meeting with the president of the Action and Solidarity Party, Igor Grosu.

The PNL leader congratulated the citizens of the Republic of Moldova for choosing to continue the country’s pro-European course, and the president of this country, Maia Sandu, for having managed to convey a message of „continuity” and „coherence” in the process of joining the Union European.

„Romania needs the Republic of Moldova to maintain this European path. It is an approach that I have understood and supported ever since the moment when the conditions and the opportunity arose for the Republic of Moldova to take this path. (…) The leadership in Chisinau is very important to us. And it is very important to us that Maia Sandu managed to be re-elected and continue in a second term, to coordinate and monitor and ensure the leadership in this country for everything that means the European path of the Republic of Moldova”, he said.
