Political formations spent last year 72 percent of the total RON 256 million-plus collected from state subsidies, the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) announced in a release, Agerpres informs.
According to the AEP, „monitoring by the Department for the control of the funding of political parties and electoral campaigns of information related to spending by the political formations from the state subsidies revealed that 2022 expenditures accounted for 72 percent of the total collected amounts.”
AEP states that 256,640,664.28 RON were transferred into the accounts of political formations, representing state subsidies.
In the structure of spending from state subsidies, expenditures on media promotion and propaganda accounted for the highest shares – 58.54 percent in the case of the Social Democratic Party, 70.72 percent for the National Liberal Party, and 27.62 percent in the case of the People’s Movement Party, shows AEP.
Regarding staff expenses, Pro Romania Party and the Save Romania Union top the ranking with shares of 44.93 percent and 29.28 percent, respectively, of the total expenses.
