President Iohannis, at summit of European Political Community

President Klaus Iohannis is participating, on Thursday, in Budapest, at the summit of the European Political Community (EPC), during the meeting there will be an exchange of views on the security challenges in Europe and the world and to discuss issues related to migration and security economic.

„Today, I am in Budapest at the EPC Summit to exchange views with fellow leaders on the security challenge in Europe and around the world and how to further deepen dialogue and cooperation on topics such as migration, economic security and connectivity,” the head of state wrote on the X platform.

The European Political Community represents an intergovernmental format of political dialogue between European states, with the aim of cooperation on topics of common interest, in order to strengthen security and stability on the European continent.

The CPE summit in Budapest will include a plenary session, in which the discussions will focus on the security challenges facing Europe, with an emphasis on the situation in Ukraine, and round tables where the leaders will address specific topics of common interest, such as migration and economic security.

„During the debates, President Klaus Iohannis will reiterate the need for a united and firm position of the leaders regarding the security situation in the region, as well as the continuation of support for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, in the context of Russia’s war of aggression,” announced the Presidential Administration.

Iohannis will also participate in a round table in which issues related to migration will be debated, on which occasion he will plead for the identification of solutions at the European level in the field of illegal migration management, in the short term, but also through a more comprehensive approach in the long term long, which will allow greater cohesion and efficiency at the European level in addressing this phenomenon.
