President Klaus Iohannis will participate on Wednesday, in Warsaw, alongside his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda, in the extraordinary meeting of the Bucharest 9 Format (B9), with US President Joe Biden and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg attending the summit as guests, the Presidential Administration informed, according to Agerpres.

The B9 Summit takes place in the context in which one year has passed since the start of Russia’s aggression war against Ukraine, on 24 February 2022, and aims to continue the coordination between the Allies of the Eastern Flank of NATO and the US, against the security challenges generated by the war.

According to the Presidential Administration, the agenda of talks will be aimed at the further multi-dimensional support which the Allied states, including those attending the B9 Format, grant to Ukraine, the support for its Euro-Atlantic aspirations, as well as NATO’s continuous demarches to strengthen its deterrence and defence posture on the Eastern Flank. Moreover, also tackled will be the ways to hold Russia accountable, through international law instruments, for the crimes committed in Ukraine. A special attention will also be paid to the vulnerable partners, such as the Republic of Moldova, confronted with increased security challenges, the quoted source informed.
