President Klaus Iohannis to pay a visit to Montenegro on Wednesday

President Klaus Iohannis will pay an official visit to Montenegro on Wednesday, at the invitation of his counterpart Jakov Milatovic.

According to a press release of the Presidential Administration sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday, the official visit of the president of Romania, the first at the head of state level since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, marks a landmark moment in bilateral terms and takes place in the context of a special dynamic, both of the political-diplomatic dialogue, as well as the sectoral one.

The head of state will be received by president Jakov Milatovic at the latter’s official residence in Cetinje.

The political consultations between the two presidents will focus on political-diplomatic cooperation and in the field of defence, support for Montenegro’s European path, the main regional and global security challenges, the same source states.

Regarding the sectoral areas of cooperation, existing opportunities for increasing investments and commercial exchanges, boosting contacts in the fields of energy, tourism, agriculture, internal affairs, research, education and culture will be addressed.
