Interim President Ilie Bolojan’s consultations with the parliamentary parties and formations aimed at preparing our country’s position for the special European Council on March 6 continue on Wednesday at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace with representatives of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR).

The talks will be attended by the UDMR chairman, Kelemen Hunor, the leader of the UDMR deputies, Csoma Botond, the leader of the UDMR senators, Turos Lorand Turos, Finance Minister Tanczos Barna and Development Minister Cseke Attila.

The interim president is accompanied by presidential advisers Cristian Diaconescu, Luminita Odobescu and Bogdan Mazuru and state counselor Bianca Firezar.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ilie Bolojan thanked the UDMR representatives for coming to the consultations, with UDMR leader Kelemen Hunor thanking for the invitation and voicing his appreciation for this initiative.

Interim president Bolojan deemed as beneficial aligning the parties’ positions „as much as possible”, and having „a dialogue on these important issues as fair as possible”.

The consultations at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace began on Wednesday morning with the Social Democratic Party (PSD) delegation, followed by consultations with representatives of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), Save Romania Union (USR) and the S.O.S. Romania Party.

The Parliamentary Group of National Minorities and the National Liberal Party are next to be consulted.

The Young People’s Party has announced that it will no longer take part in the Cotroceni consultations.
