Every responsible citizen who goes to vote can make history for Romania, interim President Ilie Bolojan said on Sunday after casting his ballot at a polling station set up at School No. 150 in the Capital.
„Why these elections are important: it is a complicated time, and the era of calm is over. The president of Romania will set the key directions of our foreign and defence policies. Our country’s safety and the fact that we remain a trusted nation will depend on these,” Bolojan said.
He added that internally, the president will need to work with the parliamentary majority and the government „to rebuild trust, to reform the state, and to create opportunities and development for Romanians.”
„For these reasons, every responsible citizen who goes to vote can make history for Romania. My message to all Romanian citizens is to go vote, regardless of their choice. Vote as your conscience tells you,” the interim president urged.
