Calin Georgescu on Saturday evening, after the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) rejected the registration of his candidacy, said that Romania „is under tyranny” and Europe is „a dictatorship.”
„Another direct blow to the heart of democracy around the world! I have only one message left: if democracy in Romania falls, the entire democratic world will fall! This is just the beginning. It’s so simple! Europe is now a dictatorship, Romania is under tyranny,” wrote Calin Georgescu in a post on his Facebook page.
BEC announced on Sunday evening that the registration of Calin Georgescu’s candidacy was rejected.
According to a BEC press release, the registrations of two other independents, Maria Marcu and Ion Popa, were also rejected.
The registration of Nicusor Dan’s candidacy was accepted. AGERPRES
