The population’s water supply is ensured with restrictions by the water operators, in certain time intervals, for 449 localities, representing 15% of the Romanian localities, of which six cities, namely Dorohoi, Targu Neamt, Targu Ocna, Roman, Pascani and Harlau, partially the Municipality of Iasi which have centralized systems, informs the Romanian National Water Administration (ANAR).
The most affected localities are in the counties of Botosani, Iasi, Alba, Gorj, Vrancea, Bacau, Neamt, Galati, Hunedoara, Vaslui, Olt and Arges.
According to ANAR, the coefficient in the 40 reservoirs reached 79.77%, slightly down compared to last week, when it was 80%.
Currently, a water volume of about 3.46 billion cubic meters (mc) is maintained to ensure the raw water needs for beneficiaries from the surface water source in a centralized regime.
In this context, ANAR specialists estimate that, at the end of July, in the 40 main reservoirs with an important role in the water supply for the population and industries and the production of electricity for the National Energy System, the filling coefficient will be approximately 77%.
