Romania and Cuba to conclude cooperation agreement in Health area

Romania and Cuba will sign an intergovernmental agreement that will regulate the legal cooperation framework in the health field regarding public health services, as well as the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases – diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer.

According to a press release issued on Monday by the Ministry of Health, the Romanian-Cuban bilateral agreement includes, in addition to the exchange of information in the medical field between the two countries, study visits and the participation of specialists from both countries in scientific conferences.

The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rafila, is on official visit to the Republic of Cuba, where he is participating in the 4th International Conference „Cuba-Health 2022” with the theme „Universal Health, as an integral part of the 2030 Health Agenda, in the post-COVID-19 scenario” attended by delegates from over 80 countries. 30 Ministers of Health and leaders from the World Health Organization, the Pan American Health Organization and other international agencies are present.

„The signing of the cooperation agreement in the field of Health between the Government of Romania and the Government of the Republic of Cuba will take place tomorrow”, the press release states.
