Published on

A shipment of humanitarian aid, consisting of food products, offered by Romania to the civilian population of Lebanon left on Friday morning for this country.

According to a government press release, the decision to grant humanitarian aid to the civilian population in Lebanon was made at the meeting of the National Committee for Emergency Situations (CNSU), convened on Thursday by Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, at the proposal of the Department for Emergency Situations (DSU).

„The decision was adopted by the CNSU taking into consideration the security situation in the Middle East, which has also generated a humanitarian crisis in the Republic of Lebanon,” the release reads.

The goods are being carried via air with national resources provided by the Ministry of National Defence.
