The Romanian Army will carry out tactical exercises this week in the military range in Sfantu Gheorghe, with the aim of training the military and validating the intervention procedures on forested mountainous land, the command of the 22nd Ciresoaia Mountain Battalion announced on Monday.
„Between May 5-9, 2025, the Romanian Army will conduct tactical exercises with troops and armoured equipment. The training activities take place at the Pais training range in the city of Sfantu Gheorghe. The objective of these exercises is to train the military and validate the techniques, tactics and procedures in the execution of joint military actions on forested mountainous land. During the activities, the military will use exercise ammunition,” according to the command.
The forces and armoured vehicles participating in the training will transit through the counties of Arges, Brasov and Covasna.
Over the last two years, several exercises of this kind have taken place in Covasna County, with the participation of both ground and air troops from military departments of the Ministry of National Defence, as well as NATO soldiers deployed in Romania.
