Romanian Senate holds moment of silence for victims of war in Ukraine

Published on

At the request of the Save Romania Union (USR) floor leader Stefan Palaria, Romanian senators on Monday held a moment of silence, as a sign of solidarity and respect for the victims of the war in Ukraine.

„We probably saw yesterday, all of us, terrified and shocked, how there was a horrible attack by Russia on absolutely innocent civilians in the city of Sumy in Ukraine, an attack that comes shortly after another attack, in Kryvyi Rih, coward attacks that kill civilians, children, women, men, innocent people. In this attack I saw some shocking pictures, with people, with victims, who still had in their hands the willow branches taken from the church service. Dozens of dead were left because of this attack, two children died, hundreds were wounded. As a sign of solidarity and respect for the victims of the war in Ukraine, started by Russia, which is guilty of the war, I invite you to hold a short moment of silence,” said Palaria.
