Romanians spent their summer holidays this year mainly in Mediterranean countries, with Greece, Spain and Italy at the top of the list, shows an analysis published on Monday by the online travel agency eSky.

Thus, 31% of Romanians who have traveled with eSky.ro have organized their vacations in Greece, with the most popular locations being Crete, Corfu, Zakynthos, Agios Georgios (Santorini) and Mykonos.

In Spain, Romanians spent their summer holidays on the Costa del Maresme (Santa Susanna, Barcelona), in Mallorca (Palma de Mallorca, Calvia), the Canary Islands (Santiago del Teide, Adeje), Costa Dorada (Salou, Vila-seca), Costa del Sol (Torremolinos) and Costa Brava (Lloret del Mar).

In the summer of 2024, 12% of travelers booked their holiday in Italy and the most popular destinations were Rimini, Catania, Bologna, as well as Rome and Milan.

On the other hand, unlike in previous years, the summer of 2024 saw a significant increase in sales of flight and accommodation packages to the United Arab Emirates. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the most popular destinations.

The eSky analysis shows the seven most popular destinations based on the number of dynamic „Holiday” packages booked on the platform, with a departure date between June 1, 2024 and a return date by August 31, 2024.

eSky Group owns one of the leading travel platforms in Central and Eastern Europe, operating globally in more than 50 countries.
