Romania’s economy up 4.8% in 2022

Romania’s economy increased by 4.8pct last year, and the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Quarter 4 of 2022 was, in real terms, higher by 1.1pct compared to the previous quarter, according to the data published on Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), Agerpres informs.

As seasonally adjusted, in Q4 of 2022, compared to Q3, the Gross Domestic Product increased by 1.1pct. Compared to the same quarter of 2021, the GDP registered a 5.0pct increase.

As gross series, compared to the same quarter of 2021, the Gross Domestic Product registered an increase by 4.6pct in Q4 of 2022.

In 2022, compared to 2021, the GDP increased by 4.8pct, according to the INS.

„As a result of the inclusion of the estimate of the Gross Domestic Product for Q4 of 2022 in the quarterly gross series, the seasonally adjusted series was recalculated, the volume indices having been revised compared to the second provisional version of the Gross Domestic Product for Q3 of 2022, published in press release No. 9 of 12 January 2023. Therefore: the results of Q1 of 2022, compared to Q4 of 2021, were revised from 101.5pct to 101.4pct; Seasonally adjusted series are recalculated quarterly in accordance with European practice. According to the current revision policy, the quarters of the years 2021-2022 will be revised as a gross series as a result of the reconciliations with the annual data,” the quoted source mentions.
