Social Democrats kick off campaign to collect signatures for presidential, general elections

The Social Democratic Party (PSD) of Iasi on Wednesday morning started a campaign to collect signatures for the presidential and general elections.

Next to the president of the Iasi branch of the PSD, Bogdan Cojocaru, who spoke about the need for political stability at national level and investment projects in Moldavia, was the rector of the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi, Dan Cascaval, who has recently joined PSD.

Also attending the event were officials of the PSD the county organisation, county councillors, municipal councillors, as well as members and social-democratic sympathisers.

„We are starting the campaign to collect signatures together with our social-democratic colleagues with a desire to continue to remain close to the people of Iasi, to listen to their needs and to convey them to the county or national decision-makers. We have today a credible and serious government partner in Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, with whom we have managed in the last two years to truly unlock the largest investments that have ever been carried out in Iasi County: the Regional Emergency Hospital, the Moldavian Motorway (A7) and the Union Motorway (A8). We are also close to everything that means the needs of the communities in the county, through the connection we have with the mayors and local administrations. Investment in the modernisation of road infrastructure, schools and kindergartens, connection to utilities and construction of new medical facilities are just some of the important development directions to which we, the Social Democrats, have fully contributed in recent years,” PSD Iasi Chairman Bogdan Cojocaru told the press.

„Together with the other social-democratic colleagues, we aim to form a team of competent and valuable people who will represent Iasi with honour in the Romanian Parliament,” he added.
