The French Minister of Defense, Sebastien Lecornu, will travel to Ukraine on Wednesday to express France’s continued support, AFP informs on Sunday, citing a source from the French Ministry of Defense, according to Agerpres.
„In particular, he will bring a man to the Kyiv Monument to the Fallen Heroes and meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Oleksiy Reznikov,” the source said, without giving further details about the program for security reasons.
This will be the first trip of the French defense minister to Ukraine since the launch of the Russian offensive on February 24, the quoted source added.
France, which organized an international conference in support of Ukraine on December 13, reaffirms its readiness to provide all its humanitarian and military support to Kiev.
French President Emmanuel Macron had indicated earlier this week that France had recently delivered Crotale missile launchers and missile batteries to Ukraine.
