The Romanian Parliament: A new parliamentary friendship group established with Bangladesh

At a joint session on Wednesday, the Romanian Parliament approved the establishment of parliamentary friendship group with Bangladesh, 347 to 12 and five abstentions.

The Romanian Parliament currently has 100 parliamentary friendship groups and the PRO-America Group. The friendship groups with Belarus and the Russian Federation were abolished after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.

The composition of the parliamentary friendship group with Bangladesh is: Marius Margarit – Social Democratic Party (PSD) MP, chairman; Vasilica Poteca – National Liberal Party (PNL) senator, deputy chairman; Victor Ilie – Save Romania Union (USR), secretary, and members Marius Toanchina – PSD senator; Laurenţiu Marin – PSD MP; Marian Rasaliu – PSD MP; Valentin Fagarasian PNL MP; Ciprian Stoica – Alliance for the Union of Romanian (AUR) MP; Zacharie Benedek, Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) MP, and Varol Amet – national minorities’ MP.
