National Electricity Transmission Company (CNTEE) Transelectrica SA posted a net profit of RON 162 million, up almost six times compared to the same period last year, when it recorded RON 28 million, according to the half-yearly Report sent on Wednesday to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), write Agerpres.
Transelectrica SA’s total operating revenue fell 16% compared to the same period last year, to RON 2.2 billion, in the context of a significant decrease in revenues from zero-profit activities.
According to the report, the total amount of electricity transported in H1 2023 decreased by about 1.9 TWh compared to the same period last year (24.97 TWh in H1 2023 compared to 26.90 TWh in H1 2022).
Analysing the evolution of the components of the energy balance, a decrease of 8% in net domestic consumption and an increase of 5% in net energy production can be noted in the period January – June 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.
With regard to the production mix, there was an increase of 44% in the hydropower component and 3% in the nuclear power component, respectively a decrease of 20% in thermal power component and 7% in the renewable energy one (mainly based on the decrease in photovoltaic (-56%) and wind (-44%) energy production) in the period January – June 2023 compared to the same period of 2022, the Transelectrica document submitted to the BVB also states.
Transelectrica manages and operates a network of over 9,000 kilometers of high voltage overhead power lines (400 kV, 220 kV and 110 kV) and 81 transformer power stations throughout the country.
