Transelectrica planning 52 ml RON worth of investments to increase power supply security in south Bucharest

Published on

The national electricity transmission company Transelectrica earmarks 51.645 million RON for works aimed at increasing the power supply security at the 400/220/110/10 kV Bucharest South transformer substation, the company announced on the public procurement website, according to Agerpres.

The purpose of the investment is to improve the quality of the electricity transmission service and increase safety and redundancy in the supply of network users, scale up the power of the 110 kV and 10 kV substations in order to adjust to the increase in the energy capacities of the distribution operators in the Bucharest area, and also improve the flexibility of the operating scheme so as to prevent congestion in the event of a malfunction or of a surge in the output of the wind power plant.

Two transformer units of 250 MVA 400/110/20 kV will be installed as part of the investment, which will increase the power of the Bucharest South Station and will render the supply scheme more flexible through the direct connection between the 400 kV and 110 kV substations. 400 kV and 110 kV cubicles with standard and SF6 insulation will be installed for the connection of these transformer units, complete with the command, control, protection and metering system. The SCADA integration of the new transformer units will also be carried out, the announcement states.

Transelectrica organizes an open tender for these works and the criterion for the award of the 24-month contract is the best quality-price ratio.

The deadline for submitting bids or requests to participate is February 1, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. The bid opening date is February 1, 2023, 3:00 p.m.
