National leader of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) Kelemen Hunor said on Friday in Prahova that „the Hungarians are not Romania’s enemies” and presidential candidate Victor Ponta „beats around the bush” when he says that he would not support a finance minister from UDMR.
„Mr Ponta is looking for enemies and has found Romania’s enemy in UDMR and the Hungarians. We must say very clearly: the Hungarians are not Romania’s enemies. Citizens of Hungarian ethnicity are and work for Romania. Mr Ponta beats around the bush, but it’s not the first time,” Kelemen said.
Kelemen attended a general assembly of the National Union of Romania’s County Councils at Chitorani, Prahova County.
Ponta told Digi24 private broadcaster on Wednesday that he would never have appointed a finance minister from UDMR.
