UDMR’s Kelemen Hunor: The coalition plans to regain citizens’ trust

The coalition made of Social Democratic Party (PSD), the National Liberal Party (PNL), the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR) and the parliamentary group of national minorities plans to regain citizens’ trust, UDMR President Kelemen Hunor said on Monday, after signing the political agreement.

„We are aware that we are in a deep political crisis. There is also a crisis of trust, and this coalition proposes to regain citizens’ trust, people’s trust, because it is the most important thing, without which we cannot emerge from the political crisis or carry out the necessary reforms, from which every community and every individual will benefit. That is why we have assumed this coalition, and UDMR is a signatory of the coalition agreement,” said the UDMR president.

He called for the presidential elections to be organised as soon as possible.

„In the period ahead, immediately after the holidays, the biggest challenge is to have a well-built budget, a balanced budget for 2025, and to organise the presidential elections as soon as possible, preferably before next year’s Easter holidays,” Kelemen Hunor said.
