The unemployment rate recorded at the national level, at the end of March 2025, was 3.33%, down by 0.04 percentage points compared to the previous month, the National Employment Agency (ANOFM) reported on Monday.
According to the institution, the total number of unemployed at the end of February 2025 was 265,869 people.
Of the total number of registered unemployed, 56,766 were unemployed with benefits and 209,103 were unemployed without benefits. The number of unemployed with benefits decreased by 1,653 people, and the number of unemployed without benefits decreased by 871 people compared to the previous month.
By area of residence, the number of unemployed people at the end of March is as follows: 70,126 unemployed people come from urban areas and 195,743 unemployed people come from rural areas.
The number of unemployed women on March 31, 2025 was 123,435 people, while the number of unemployed men was 142,434 people.
Most unemployed people were between 40 and 49 years old (67,955), followed by those over 55 years old (61,773), at the opposite end were people between 25 and 29 years old (15,463).
Regarding the structure of unemployment by level of education, unemployed people without education and those with primary education have a significant share in the total number of unemployed people registered in the records of the ANOFM (31.74%).
Unemployed people with a secondary education level represent 34.26% of the total registered unemployed, and those with university degrees 4.45%.
