Save Romanian Union (USR) Deputy Chairman and vice-president of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Chamber of Deputies Dan Barna on Wednesday condemned the attack on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, stressing that violence and terrorism „cannot generate solutions.”
„Terrorism and violence were not and cannot be a solution under any circumstances. Regardless of one’s agreement or disagreement with one’s political views, violence and terrorism are not a solution and cannot generate solutions, all the more so in a Europe where dialogue has been, at least in recent decades, the way and the means by which many of the specific problems could be solved. I strongly condemn this attack and I am shocked and outraged that such a thing can still happen in Europe that we thought was forgotten in the history books at the beginning of the century,” Dan Barna told AGERPRES.
He also said that the radicalisation of messages can lead to such deviations from the balance and peace of a society.
„Until we have more information it is hard to put a label or draw a conclusion. But the message is this: violence and terrorism cannot be a solution. Indeed, the radicalisation of messages can generate such deviations from the balance and tranquillity of a society. It is a situation that must be condemned in the strongest possible terms and I hope that this will be supported by all rational leaders of Europe,” said Dan Barna.
