USR’s Drula: Interior Ministry seems like an organised crime network under PNL leadership

Published on

The National Liberal Party (PNL) has been leading the Interior Ministry (MAI) for almost five years, during which time the ministry seems to have turned „into an organised crime network,” Save Romania Union (USR) national leader Catalin Drula said on Tuesday, adding that the ministry needs a „thorough cleaning.”

„An immigration network was coordinated by the very former officials from the Interior Ministry, we learn from DIICOT and DNA investigations. Those who should have protected us and brought Romania into the Schengen area have introduced over 1,000 migrants into the country, using work visas to send them further to Schengen countries,” Drula wrote in a social media post.

According to the USR leader, „PNL Interior Ministers Bode and Predoiu are directly responsible.”

„We are talking about corruption acts at the highest level of the MAI. Acts of corruption that have undermined national security. Former and current MAI employees and former colonels are involved. There is a need for a thorough cleaning at the Ministry of Interior. But such cleaning must begin with Predoiu. PNL has led this ministry for too long.”
